A tree spends its entire life rooted in one place, a humble witness to the world around it. These images seek to explore the character of individual trees and their relationship with the broader woodland. I am always fascinated by the complexity of trees and black and white’s ability to distill their forms into a graphic relationship of space and shape. The below gallery holds some of my best black and white woodland photography from my time in England & Wales.
