Autumn Woodland Photography Workshop in Snowdonia/Eryri (SOLD OUT)
Join me for a one-day group woodland photography workshop in Snowdonia.
We will be exploring Snowdonia’s woodlands around the Beddgelert area, including exceptional examples of the temperate rainforest ecosystem in peak Autumn colour. These workshops not only give you the opportunity to learn from myself, but also from other attendees through constructive group discussion and image reviews. A one day workshop can help you to find order in the woodland chaos, master the technical side of photography, improve your compositional skills, and develop your artistic vision.
No matter the level of your photography, join for a 1-day landscape photography workshop and learn how to be more intentional with your creative process, alongside different tips and techniques.
-
Full 8 hour days packed with activities, which include: on location tuition, image review and discussion, and advice on post-processing.
-
We will explore some of Snowdonia’s exceptional woodland and temperate rainforests around the Beddgelert area.
-
The intimate setting of a 1:3 teaching ratio allows for lots of 1-on-1 time as well as group tutoring. This also allows everyone plenty of space to find their own composition.
-
Paired with image reviews, we will take part in critiques that look at each others work in a constructive manner. Take this opportunity to learn from other photographer’s unique approaches!
-
All locations are typically a short walk from the car with a good path. Some woodlands are on fairly steep banks. If you are a regular walker then the physical requirements for this trip will be easy.
Your Tutor
Murray Livingston
Murray is a South African professional fine art landscape and nature photographer (film & digital) with more than 10 years of experience. He is a deep thinker with interests in wildlife & conservation, philosophy, design, cooking, and more. All of this translates into Murray’s unique contemplative and introspective approach to photography.
Tuition
The workshop itself will begin with a short walk to situate ourselves before delving in to the practice of photography, image critiques, and more. Throughout the day we will focus on technical proficiency (getting the basics right), composition, the art of photography & developing personal expression through a contemplative creative process.
I will be on hand at all times throughout the day, providing each participant with 1-on-1 and group tuition. In addition to this, we will be performing a series of short creative exercises both to stimulate the group and to introduce the participants to the area. Part of this workshop is also to watch how I go about making photographs in the field. As such, I will also be making images in order to demonstrate my creative processes. Some topics covered on the workshop range from:
Basic & Advanced camera techniques (exposure, focus, histogram)
Importance of light, balance, framing
Photographing in black and white & colour
How personal connection dictates composition and subject finding
Pre-visualising your final image & post-processing
If you want to get a sense of how I teach, you can watch me in the field on my youtube channel. If you have any questions please get in touch!
