Scotland Ancient Caledonian Forest Photography Fine Art Prints
The Ancient Caledonian Forests of the highlands of Scotland are a relic of how the landscape once looked prior to modern land management practices. These woodlands first appeared after the glaciers of the last ice age retreated thousands of years ago. There are small remnants of the forest dotted around the country, with modern ecological movements to re-establish more widespread portions of Scots Pine, Alder, Birch, Rowan, Mountain Ash, and countless other species including animals. This gallery includes some of my best images from exploring these ancient forests, in particular showcasing one frosty morning in December 2023.
At the top of the page you will find a full slideshow for easy viewing, followed by a grid view to purchase prints (click on your selected image). If you have any questions or special requests, please do not hesitate to get in touch and I would be more than happy to help. Each pigment ink print is made using only the highest quality materials including Fine Art Acrylic, Canson Fine Art Paper, and Aluminium Metal backing.
